Hummingbird Rescue – Maine 2012

This little hummingbird was unable able to fly because a small piece of sponge was stuck to it’s foot. This little hummingbird was remarkably relaxed. After removing the sponge and spider web it finally did fly off. You’ll notice that it turned back and flew towards me as if to say thanks. Some people never see these little birds, but I was lucky enough to actually hold one and help it out. I’ve had a lot of people flip me the bird, but I’ve never had one rest in my hands like this before.

We had the chance to save a little hummingbird that was unable to fly. It was quite amazing how this little bird sat in my hand as I was able to figure out why he couldn’t fly.
