This video tutorial covers the process of replacing OEM Rancho rear shock absorbers on a 2014 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado. The shock absorber replacement process covered in this video will be the same or very similar on many other vehicles. I installed a set of Bilstein 5100 Monotube Gas shock absorbers, replacing the factory set of Rancho shocks. there was some question as to which way I should install the shocks as it seems as though the shock should be installed with the rubber boot at the top of the shock. According to the Bilstein documentation, the shock should be installed with the label text in the correct position. Essentially, if the label is upsidedown, then so is your shock absorber!
